at night she told me of souls
hidden in tree barks

and wizards and demons

through the haze of pain

childhood ear infections

and

migraines

and

later morning sickness

i listened and visualized

I told her about my dreams

                         "while you sleep, the mind takes you where you 
want to be "

she said

how can i want to be in some of the places i dream of and remember dreaming 
of i wondered

i wonder...

what do i know from these dreams that is true?

who speaks to me - do you know?

                         should you take my strangeness quite so literally?
                                 am i even real?
