Subject: levinas


i wondered if anyone can help me to understand the Levinasian ethical
encounter - exactly how does one approach the other in such an encounter? 
it seems to me that Levinas rules out any kind of common rationality -
whcih is a good thing - but does not offer any other mode of connection
between people.
