Subject: Call for Papers: AIMS Dissertation Workshop
Call for Papers
The American Institute of Maghrib Studies is sponsoring its fifth annual
Dissertation Workshop at the University of Chicago on April 21-22.
The workshop offers a venue in which to discuss the current work of
doctoral candidates engaged in research relating to North Africa.
Professors present talks on publishing, job market conditions, and other
useful topics. It also provides graduate students a chance to meet and to
develop relationships with future colleagues in their field.
All disciplines are welcome, and in the past have included: history,
political science, anthropology, sociology, archaelogoy, comparative
literature, and health care. Although funding is limited, there will be
some money for travel expenses, however, space is limited to approximately
thirteen participants. Prospective participants should send a current C.V.
and short (300-word) topic proposal by March 17th to:
