Subject: Where are the non-Western, non-white Jennicams?


Dear Po Co'ers:

My name is Terri Senft, and I am at New York University  working on a
doctoral dissertation (soon to be a book) on women and webcamming. I hope
Rhadika can vouch for me being 'on the level', here  :)

I know this is a long shot, but I want to make sure to cover every avenue I
have at my disposal. I am writing to the list to ask for recommendations
regarding:

1. Names and URLs for Non-USA, Non-Western European camgirls.

I'm particularly interested in hearing about women who have set up webcams
from places like Asia or Africa, or "poorer" South  American countries
(i.e. not Brazil.)

2. Names and URLs for Non-white camgirls.

I'm trying like hell to answer the question, "Where are the
African-American or Asian-American Jennicams?"

I'm not looking for "See me get naked with my hot Asian girlfriends for
$19.95 a minute" stuff; I'm looking for the sort of autobiographical
webcamming that is common among white twenty to thirty something females in
the US and Western Europe.

And a final note:

I'm not naive about the financial, technical and sociological obstacles
non-white and/or non-Western women might be facing vis. webcamming on the
level of a Jennicam. However, I'm not ready to blithely announce, "Hey,
they don't exist!" prior to exhausting all avenues of research. I feel that
the practice of ignoring  non-Western technology use as "non-existent" or
"not sufficient to merit analysis" is something that needs to remedied,
like, immediately.
