There's also the later, and very engaging, article by Kureishi entitled
"Bradford" (Granta 20, 1986) where he travels to Bradford, meets the first
Pakistani mayor, asserts that Britain must redefine "Englishness" to include the
new realities of British life and culture, and  reflects on the limits to
pluralism.
