     We don't know for sure about the timin of the
mutations.  Obviously blood typing has been going on
for a relatively short period.  It is inferred from
what we know of migration patterns and the distributions.
There is little doubt about B because the mutation was
so recent that the distribution pattern is very clear.
The A mutation was much earlier and thus one might 
hypothesize that it came earlier.  But that would imply
that, among other not widely accepted things, that humanity
originated in South America and migrated out from there to'
the rest of the world.
