it seems we are pretty much in agreement. If you accept
that neo-classical theory involves strong abstraction (complete markets for
factors of production and perfect competition), its ontology includes
preferences, property rights, technologies and resources. The only
ontologically suspect one in my opinion is "preferences" (hence shuffling
with "revealed preferences") but disaggregated models might not ask too
much.
