just a quick comment:

Adorno actually makes this remark about philosophy first and foremost
not about poetry. . . his questioning about the possibilities for and of
philosophy after the Holocaust is one of the leit motifs which guide
most of his work from the Dialectic of Enlightenment on. . .and his
responses vary. . . at some point he argues that this is in fact a time
for philosophy precisely because philosophy failed, because philosophy,
pace Hegel, missed its moment of realization once and for all. . .
