Hello:

	I too just suscribed to this group rather recently and up to this point
had received or heared nothing. . .this is therefore a nice begining. .
.but only a begining. . .which leaves me with a question for which i
have no answers. . .obviously we are all interested in having a
substantive discussion about Lytord's work, but where and how should we
begin given that the body of work is large and that our interests in,
and relations to, the work are probably different?. . . While the issue
of "sovereignty" and the book "Le Differend" are not my main concerns
per se and right now, I would nevertheless like to engage in a
substantive discussion about them. . . so rather than give scant
biographical information or raise other related but different issues,
let me implore you to start something substantive by taking a "risk" and
giving us more of your own specific thoughts. . . something that we can
start to address directly and concretely. . . if you do I promise to
respond as well and thoroughly as I can, to take a "risk" myself and put
out some of my own thoughts. . .
