what 3 days do you cite for the beginning of the vietnam war?  i don't meen 
to demean your observation, but i lived through that period.  do you mean 
dien bien phu?  the american presence which kennedy sent?  the mytyhical 
attack on our ships that johnson used as an excuse?  this was a war which 
really began in about 1945 or 6 and smoldered for 7 years, then burned out 
the french, smoldered some more, then slowly ratcheted up to johnson, 
mcnamara, and the increasing troop commitments by the tens of thousands.  my 
roommate is on the wall in washington.  i paid careful attention.  

please document statements like the above.
