Subject: HAB: Habermas and Kosovo


There is a new book with an essay by Habermas that caused much debate and,
some might even say consternation:

Jürgen Habermas, "Bestiality and Humanity: A War on the Border Between Law
and Morality" in William Joseph Buckley, ed., __Kosovo: Contending Voices
on Balkan Interventions__(Grand Rapids, Michigan: William B. Eerdmans
Publishing Company, 2000), 306-16.

The essay has been revised, and annotated by the editor with the help and
approval of Habermas

The book is very impressive, with about fifty essays, from all sorts of
people, including Kissinger, Milosevic, Havel, Elshtain, Kaplan, etc.
