Subject: MB: Scandal


For anyone who is interested in the Blanchot of the 'thirties, and
particularly his (right-wing) political articles:  I have just
read the excellent and patiently-researched new book by Steven
Ungar, SCANDAL & AFTEREFFECT, Univ. of Minnesota Press, 1995. It 
deals with an aspect of Blanchot's activity that we are only
vaguely familiar with; and it is also an important contribution
toward our reassessment of France in the 1930 years.
