Thank you, as this helps me to understand the term in a way which Bataille 
would approve, I think.  How is this dissipation accomplished?  

I will check out the Seneca texts you've suggested.  I know him only as a 
dramatist.  

Doesn't forgiveness preclude communication?  Can one possibly "forgive" a 
lover?
