Subject: Introduction to the list.


Hi,

I just signed on to the list and i just wanted to introduce myself.  My name
is Thivai and i'm a graduate student who is very interested in learning about
the various modern avant-gardes and their contemporary counterparts (or why
some people believe that it is no longer possible to be avant-garde).

The theorization of the avant-garde is a component of my Master's thesis so i
will be asking the list some questions in order to gain a better understanding
of how others view these movements.  

I would be very interested in any suggestions of sources: books, journals,
articles, online sites, etc.....   

Also is the list always so inactive or is this just a slow period?
