hey greg,

all sorts of things are POSSIBLE.  hell, an invisible pink unicorn
named ralph is really behind it all, along with his tardis.  but once
again, to abandon the simplest explanation requires evidence or you've
violated a fundamental rule of logic.

odds are this kid got himself in deep, deep shit.  as i said, being an
amerikan jew with fucking israeli stamps in his passport made him an
obvious target.  it's not hard to see an iraqi security checkpoint
picking him up.  shit, i'd think he was a mossad spy my own damn self.
and of course, as soon as the iraqi security forces had him, the
insurgents heard about it before the amerikans.  they dragged their
feet a couple weeks and finally either let him go or had the iraqis
let him go cause his dad sued the governement and forced them to act.

did they somehow 'tip off' the insurgents to pick him up and wax him?
did they do it themselves?  who knows, but it's hardly a stretch to
see how his ass was toast after two weeks in the hooskow.  everybody
had him in their sights.  most likely, if any amerikan intel operative
bothered to think about it (unlikely), they were probably glad to be
rid of him.

it's not that this governement isn't craven or evil enough to kill one
of their own citizens, it's just that they aren't competent enough to
think it up, much less carry it off.  to believe otherwise requires
evidence of the tangible variety.
