Well, yes, it was news to me. Maybe it shouldn't have been news to me,
maybe if I had been paying more attention it wouldn't have been news
to me, but it was. I knew you were some sort of minor Democratic party
official. I didn't realise you ran an office with employees and half a million
bucks to distribute. Maybe I  _should_  have realised that, but I didn't.
And yes, I can understand your motives for running a poor relief office,
just as I can understand your motives for wanting Bush out. Damn,
but you are touchy about this, Carp.

Coming back to the main point I was making, some years ago
folk over here were so sick of the Tories they welcomed the election
of Tony Blair. Nowadays folk are so sick of Tony Blair almost
any alternative looks preferable. I agree it seems difficult to imagine
that anything could possibly be worse than Bush and co. But it being
difficult to imagine anything worse than the Tories is what landed us
with Tony Blair. I can understand folk wanting Bush out. I would probably
cheer his removal myself. But Kerry looks like a very slippery customer.

By the way, my better half is talking about registering as an overseas
voter. Yes, Keri is thinking of voting for Kerry. Apparently there are several
million US citizens in other countries and their votes could be more than
enough to swing the election one way or the other in a close contest.
(If there  IS  a contest, that is. Perhaps, if Bush looks in danger of losing,
some unimaginable catastrophe will cause the election to be cancelled.)
Again, I can completely understand why Keri is talking of voting for Kerry.
Not because it will bring an ideal anarchist society any nearer, but just
in order to try to prevent things from getting even worse. I can understand
it, but I remember "the lesser evil" is what landed us with Tony Blair.
