It has here in Indy-by-Gawd-anna, but alas, poor yorik, well that I knew
it. The two jobs, a new house and no yard but lots of bare clay that
needed graded, seed, straw, and water, two teen-agers, the annual local
county adult literacy charity team quiz bowl, practicing with my middle
school kids for the state finals in the Academic Superbowl, and strong
dirnk on occasion makes a fellow weary.

The local college-oriented anarkos had a week of resistance two weeks ago
which was fairly cool; a critical mass with seven arrests (and I'm stuck in
a frigging job at the time), a "park in" where two guys rolled an old
rusted 4-wheel drive vehicle up to the doors of the grand opening of an Old
Navy and bicycle-locked themselves under the truck to the frame; and a
couple of marches regarding the trial of the first-ever alleged ELF member
for tree-spiking (this one is a real set-up job, even if the arresting game
warden is a friend of mine that I grew up with). I wish I was free of
this wage-slavery on days like those.

But then again goat, I'm getting old and I'm not sure I want to bash my
head against the wall for fun any more. I've been thinking of unsubbing
again. I just feel a bit hypocritical sometimes.
