I agree with you in substance; oppression certainly seems to be a precursor to revolution. And yet isn't the purpose of the revolution (if it can be said to have one) the end of oppression, rather than revolution merely for the sake of revolution? Revolutions tend to be somewhat destructive. I guess what i'm saying is that advocating oppression, or even finding anything positive to say about it, because it will encourage people to revolt instead of encouraging revolt as a way to deal with the oppression that exists seems slightly backwards to me.
