Norwich Puppet Theatre is certainly still operating but the question is: how
'permanent' is permanent?
Today 1st December marks its 28th birthday, but this year, because of Arts
Council England's withdrawal of regular funding it is now without an
artistic director. Consequently it has currently become a touring house only
for visiting puppet companies, and no longer creates and tours its own
productions.
By coincidence my son Nik and his partner Sarah as 'Noisy Oyster' is
performing there later this month, with a rejuvenated version of our old
"Circus Caprice".

As we are between holidays, I was wondering how many permanent puppet
theatres
existed. Not the many puppet companies, but the relatively few companies
that
have permanent facilities.

I know of at least 4 puppet theatres in England:
The Harlequin Marionette Theatre in Wales
The Puppet Barge
The Norwich Puppet Theatre if it still exists (is it the Norwich Mask and
Puppet
Theatre?)
The Little Angel

And one in Ireland:
The Lambert Puppet Theatre

Are there others? What about in the US, Canada, and Mexico? Is there a group

they all belong to?

Happy Thanksgiving!
