Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Norman Gibson visit

I too have fond memories of the movies at his
home theaters. He was one of the few who did
that back in the day. To sit down and explore
the vast collection of puppet films and videos
was a big part of my exposure to others work in
the field. He and Dr. Malkin were both very
generous in sharing their collections and knowledge.

Norman is very big into building mechanical
organs. He brought along a CD of his music and
shared a photo album of the beautiful hand
crafted organs he makes and performs with at
fairs. These range from hand crank monkey organs
to full size pipe organs with drums and other
instruments attached and mechanically
controlled. He is interested in getting one of
our Hands-Free Animatronic puppets to compliment
his appearances and will be something that Sally
may operate from a distance with a microphone and
interact with Norman as he performs with his
organs as fairs and events.... Norman is always
inventing and creating. They also recently
visited with Jim Gamble on their trip. They are
in the Southern California area to help Sally's
daughter and family during a difficult time with her health.

As you see in the photo he's really taken to his
Scotish heritage and his conversations are now
full of phrases like "Aye lad" and "I'll take a
wee bit". Great to see him again.
