Subject: [Puptcrit] gourds


I'm building on an old time fretless banjo for my wife and am using a
large gourd for a resonator.   Mathieu inspired me with papier mache.
I wanted to strengthen the gourd from the pithy inside.  I applied
Ext. wood glue and then papier machie with a top coat of  yellow art
issue which I have sealed and laquered.  It gives the inside of the
gourd a nice glow and the resonator will not  absob the sound now but
create more of a sound amplifier.  I retrieved the seeds and will sow
them in the spring .  It is a very large gourd so with a little luck
maybe I can get some growing.  A gourd toy theater perhaps...
