Do you have an efficient trick or technique to cut the shell open, relatively straight? I tried with a saw, but it was too hard, and the dremel kept being too fast, so the edge of the shell burned with a smell. One time,I dropped a new coconut and it happened to break in a relatively straight line, but that was random... --------------------- Mathieu, The thing to make out of coconut shells is that Monty Python trotting- horse sound effect thing. All you do is saw them in two, get the meat out, and "clock" them together. They work remarkably well except when trying to besiege a French castle. They're not that hard to cut in two if you have a good saw and can hold onto the thing somehow -- big vise with padding? Hacksaw? The other thing you can do is make a nice set of falsies for halloween. I haven't made any coconut shell puppets so far, but why not? I can visualize a nice mouth mechanism. I think they would be plenty strong. best, Ed _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
