Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Call for Articles: Puppetry International's "40

Hey! I'm "recently young!" I'm only sixty-seven...oh, wait a minute...I thought it said that the puppets had to be under forty. Never mind...Nancy Sander: still young most days.

Subject: [Puptcrit] Call for Articles: Puppetry International's "40 under
	40" issue

Dear Puptcrit Colleagues:

Please see the call for papers below. We are interested in articles
for the widest range of readers, and also are interested in supporting
scholarly writing on puppetry. Let me know if you might have questions.

Yours,

John Bell

Call for Papers for Puppetry International #25

"Forty Under Forty"

The upcoming issue of Puppetry International will provide a gallery of
forty "recently young" leaders in the field of puppetry, "rather young"
recent graduates of university or professional training programs, and
very young prodigies who pop up at puppetry festivals as unexpectedly as
mushrooms after a summer rain. We are looking for thumbnail sketches of
individual puppeteers and their careers to date (c. 250 words) with an
image of the artist. We will be posting longer portraits on our website;
these may include additional images, as well as links to the artists'
web pages. Well-known U. S. artists such as Basil Twist and Heather
Henson will be included, but we are also looking for lesser-known
talents with distinctive voices from the U. S. and around the globe. All
subjects must be under forty years of age at the time of publication,
the Ides of March 2009, so beware!

We publish one or two peer-reviewed articles per issue; while these
articles are rigorous in their research and intellectual concerns, they
should appeal to a broad range of readers with an interest in art and
theatre. For this number, the full article (in keeping with our theme)
will appear online only. MLA guidelines. Authors retain copyright of
their work.

Deadline: Feb 1 (early submissions are gratefully accepted); January 10
for be considered for the peer-review section. (Please indicate if you
would like to be considered for peer review.)

Images: Minimum 300dpi at printed size for magazine, 72dpi for website.

Please email submissions in .rtf or .doc format to:
