I am happy you understand my reluctance to commit to the project: it takes me=A03-4 days (less or more) of sanding to get that smooth papier mache surface :O))))))) I tried it all, using about=A0five methods of making papier mache and still ended up sanding my fingers away, in part because my papier mache developed lots of dings that had to be leveled. 
The rod is not removable; two of them are marionettes and one is a hand puppet (the mushroom).
=A0I did suggest you simplify the project for I wanted to participate. When is the last day of signing up?=A0Maybe I'll try to adapt to the nightmare situation you're proposing :O)))
