Or another brick, if it has at least a hole, and that the hole fits with your hot glue gun's head (not just the nozzle). Place the brick on something heat resistant, to catch the hot glue that will fall. Don't glue it permanently, you need to keep the receptacle relatively clean, otherwise the nozzle will get full of glue, and that glue will overheat, which I feel is toxic. Background: I've been impressed by my friend Daniel's simple design to hold his glue gun with nozzle down in between uses. He made his out of a piece of scrap wood with a wide and deep enough notch, which he then screwed to a flat base (scrap wood again). It worked well, for the entire project we worked on recently. Tonight I was just about to build one for myself, when I noticed the bricks on my homemade base for a desktop lamp. The glue gun's head fits perfectly into the middle hole! I just need to place something heat-resistant underneath the brick when I use it, and voil=E0! A very stable hot glue gun base! Looks nice too, if you like bricks! It might not work with all glue guns or all bricks. The glue gun I use and prefer is the Thermogrip 209. I have no idea how to identify the brick I use. It looks rather standard, red, with three holes. Yes I was able to replace my glue gun quickly (with same model) after I killed mine from a bit of negligence. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
