I've been asked several times to donate programs. Today I actually asked my tax accountant how to go about it. He said that if it is donated time and/or service, it can not be listed as a donation!


If you receive a check and then write a check back to the organization, you need to claim it as income and pay income taxes, so (to be fair) the check you write should be less the taxes that will be paid.

Has anyone else come across this Catch22?
