These shapes could then be printed out and would form a collective base to begin sketching/brainstorming ideas for the puppet. Everyone starts with the same base (which was created by the group) and then puts the shapes together to form faces, bodies, or ideas. From there, we may decide as a group where to go next, possibly furthering the idea through more concrete drawings or the like. Or the same idea could be accomplished through your suggestion of spare parts. I think that there is a lot of freedom and flexibility in this project since the starting point is simply to collaborate. In this way, more abstract beginnings mixed with individuals of differing aesthetic and experience, may leave opportunity for everyone to be surprised with the outcome. I like the idea of someone starting a drawing but this may lead to an unintentional forced direction by way of suggestion of the first drawing to begin with. Even if we all submitted a first drawing and then picked the starting place to modify from, it still feels as if it may initiate from one person's idea as opposed to the group really starting at a base zero together. Any other suggestions?
