Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Puppet Peers

Just had to respond to Mathieu's and Jim Gamble's discussion
here............I'm not a puppeteer by trade, just in the over 50 age group
as someone who grew up with "puppets " and was always fascinated by them and
hated seeing cartoon stuff as a kid....... even today.

That is why I just subscribe to this list and enjoy the chatter. I do sell
some of our Dazian Wonderflex and Fosshape heat activated construction
materials to some puppet makers, but not enough for a living.....and I'm
sure many puppeteers say they can't make a living with their puppet efforts
as well.

People put time effort and money into a lot of different things and of
course sacrifice financial security to do what they know and enjoy. That is
great and what it's all about.

Puppets are great and I'm still fascinated by your work, art, craft, talent
or whatever that may be. Thanks for your passion.

Sorry, but still not clear as to definition of "puppetry" in today's world,
but sure someone can set me straight on that. I think there is some great
stuff done out there that doesn't get recognized as a puppetry effort.

Thanks for listening.

I agree with the rule more as an "observation" in a general term, although I
work with many exceptions. We work hard and put the time, effort, and money
to learn our skills. Some of us sacrifice financial security to seek better
puppetry experiences and create our own shows.

Unreasonnable, but necessary.
