Subject: [Puptcrit] puppet carving workshop summer 2006

Mirek and Leah are friends of mine from Prague. They have been teaching
fantastic, traditional puppet making workshops there for several years.
Their workshop focuses on puppet design, technology, wood carving,
painting, costuming and stringing a finished marionette. If anyone is
interested in carving wooden marionettes, I would highly recommend this
experience. Below is their workshop description and web site.
Yours,
Liz Joyce

Dear Puppet Friends,

  Many greetings from Prague.

In June and July 2006, students, artists, and puppeteers will have the
chance to learn traditional wooden marionette design and construction
in the USA with Czech artists Mirek Trejtnar and Zdar Sorm.

The workshops will take place in Arlington, VA (June 20-30) and in
Albertville, Alabama (July 8-22). During both students will go through
the whole process of making wooden marionettes based on traditional
Czech methods.

For details, please see "Puppet Workshops" our web site,
www.kidpraha.cz <http://www.kidpraha.cz> . We'd appreciate it if you
could pass this message on to anyone who might be interested.

Thanks so much, and we hope you are well.

  Yours,
  Leah Gaffen and Mirek Trejtnar
