the short answer is

	these streets

		must give rise

			to an echo

and then

to a voice

that isn't afraid

			a voice

				not your own

					but not a

						stranger either

the roar of ocean inside a shell
at	one with the voices in your head

chained to a mast in the midst of the raging sea

how
	sweet
		the world

tastes

the sirens sing forever
and we are in their song
singing of the sirens
singing of us
until singing is all
there is

amid the rage and these
bartered
streets
